Hi folks! Here are some snapshots from my recent printmaking residency at Penland School of Crafts, in Penland, N.C. It was an amazing two weeks! I put in an average of 15 hours a day, totalling over 200 studio hours in 12 straight days. I was certainly tired at the end, but very happy to have had so much dedicated press / studio time.
I had several goals and hopes for this residency. During the first week, I set type, printed pages for my limited edition hand made artist book, which features my poetry and illustrations. These were all printed on the letterpress. I printed some woodcuts to accompany my etching work. I also prepared some photo polymer plates to print on the Vandercook, editioned those, and will later finish them off with etching.
During the second week, I worked on my copper plates and editioned "American Chestnut."
